Wussy & I walked over to the Post Office to pick up the box mail and lo & behold, while we were picking up, UPS had two trucks backed up to the loading dock, dropping off.
Unbeknownst to a lot of folks, just because a person gives UPS a package to deliver, that doesn’t mean that UPS takes it any further than the nearest Post Office. UPS only tells folks their package will be delivered. They make no guarantees as to HOW it’ll be delivered. 🙂
UPS wants profits. Big profits. It’s the American Way. So if a package turns out to give UPS more profit if they pay the USPS the postage & let the USPS take the package than if UPS delivers it themselves, then USPS it is. Subtracting the USPS postage fee for a package from the UPS fee & UPS still makes a really nice profit since the only money they expended was for a drive to the local Post Office. USPS has to deliver a package whether a profit was made on it or it was a loss or a draw. Oh well. The way Congress sees the Postal Service — that’s the American Way too.
