We passed a record for northern Illinois. The weather folks have been recording the weather hereabouts for the past 133 years. The last time we saw snow stick to the ground was Christmas Day 2016 (when we got 2 inches). Nothing for the past 73 days. Now, if it were July & August, no big deal.
Wussy & Munchie, being the shortcakes that they are, think this is just fine. Bouncing thru mud puddles is much more agreeable to them than plowing thru snow. Getting a bath every day doesn’t bother them. It bothers mum, tho. Wussy, not so bad. But I’ve taken Munchie from her elegant, long, Chinese diva Pekingese coat to a little Peke Tomboy look. She looks kinda like a 10 inch tall Mia Farrow.
Legs? What legs? I ain’t got no legs…………
She refuses to stand up for me so that her legs show. Her legs kinda stick out like a bulldog’s do now that there’s no long hair to hide them. But I tell her that if she’s happy, she’s beautiful. And maybe I’m being grossly anthropomorphic, but she definitely seems happy. When she’s intent on being demanding & unhappy, she’s vocal. Very vocal. She can growl up a storm. Since coming back from the groomer on Saturday afternoon, she hasn’t growled once. She’s either happy or she decided to turn over a new leaf & suffer in silence. Knowing Munchie, I’m betting on the former.
